Something new and exciting is coming to Ventnor this summer…
The weekend of 5th and 6th of July will see a two-day event: Ventnor Summer Festival.
Festivities will be concentrated around the town and the Esplanade on Saturday, and in Ventnor Park on Sunday afternoon. Businesses in Ventnor are gearing up for a fun-filled Saturday. More details to follow.
Hosted by Ventnor Town Council, Sunday afternoon is the time to celebrate the town’s community spirit with organisations, groups, and charities providing fundraising and information stalls. We are planning activities for all ages including some sporting tasters. Ventnor Bowling Club, Ventnor Cricket Club and other local sports clubs will be there, and you are invited to have a go! There will also be craft stalls, music, entertainment, and food in the award-winning park. Jackie and her team at Tee in the Park will be providing delicious refreshments alongside other caterers – watch this space for further details. We are planning stalls and activities for children including face-painting, glitter tattoos, sand art and traditional games and stalls such as hoopla and tombolas. There should be plenty of fun for local residents, islanders and holidaymakers alike.
The charge for a stall will be £10 for everyone this year – whether you are a community organisation, charity, local group, local business or craft-maker. This helps to cover the costs of organising the day. If your organisation or small business would like a stall on Sunday, please contact Catherine by e-mail: catherine@ventnortowncouncil.org.uk or telephone: 01983 857848. Ventnor shops are most welcome to have a stall – come and join us in the park.
