Ventnor Really Useful Thursday & Thursday Kitchen

On Thursday 5th September from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm, Ventnor Town Council and St Catherine’s Church will be holding our monthly ‘Really Useful Thursday’ session at St Catherine’s Church in Ventnor. The event (formerly called ‘Our Place’) brings together groups from the local voluntary and community sector with Island-wide agencies. Organisations invited include our local PCSO, Age UK, Citizen’s Advice, Health Watch, Living Well & Early Help, Ventnor Well-being Café, Sight for Wight, Diabetes IOW, Footprint Trust, Green IOW, and Baby Box Isle of Wight. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Ventnor will also be available for a drop-in Surgery from 12.30-1.30. This is a chance to discover more about the town council with an informal chat.

There will be free tea, coffee and cake and the opportunity to talk to representatives of these organisations to access support or have an informal chat. It’s a chance to meet with groups and agencies that don’t have a permanent base in Ventnor.

The event also includes our regular weekly free lunch – Thursday Kitchen. A group of volunteers have come together to offer a free lunch every Thursday as a part of the Town Council’s Warm Spaces scheme. This has been running every week since January 2023.

St Catherine’s Church is also open, for coffee tea and cake, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10:30 to 12:30, it is free, and donations are appreciated.

Many thanks to everyone at St Catherine’s Church for supporting and hosting the event.

If your organisation would like to take part in one of our Really Useful Thursdays, or you would like more information, please email catherine@ventnortowncouncil.org.uk

Really Useful Thursdays are every first Thursday of the month so make a note in your diary!

The next dates are October 3rd, November 7th, and December 5th, 2024.
