This year’s Ventnor Day is fast approaching and will be the penultimate event of Ventnor Carnival Week. It is jointly organised by Ventnor Town Council and Ventnor Carnival Association.
Have a look at Ventnor Carnival Facebook page and website for details of all the other events going on that week.
What to expect
This year’s performers on the Bandstand include Whatevva, Lucan, Island Vibe, Nothing to Lose, and Nellie Pickles. The Putting Green is host to Bethan John, Strawberry Moon, Mick Davies, Dance Vibez and Sionna Madden.
Magician and entertainer Stevo will be coming along to entertain the children: there will be plenty to see and do!
Carnival royalty
The event will be opened by Steve Cooper the Mayor and the Carnival Queen, with her Royalty. They will be piped in to the park by local teenager Kit the Bagpiper and Charlie with her Colour Guard flags.
Food and drinks will be provided by Plaza Ices, Lady Scarlett’s Tea Parlour, Better Days Café, and Tee in The Park.
Alongside the Young Farmers with an exciting surprise, there will be stalls from community groups and voluntary organisations, local businesses, crafters and artists.
Showcasing the best of our town
Mayor of Ventnor, Steve Cooper said,
“Ventnor Day showcases the best of our town, from our rich and diverse voluntary and community organisations to our artists, and crafters and some of our most popular musicians and food outlets.
“It’s a great day out for all ages in the picturesque setting of Ventnor Park and Putting Green – and a chance to raise funds for Ventnor Carnival.
“Thanks to our many volunteers that help to make the day run smoothly. Ventnor Day is a wonderful opportunity to support the local community, to socialise and enjoy the best of Ventnor.”
Come by bus
Why not go green and come by bus – there is limited parking near the park.
Spend the morning in the town and on the beach to support the fabulous array of local shops and eateries; then wander along to the park. It is a beautiful walk!
Where and when
Ventnor Day takes place on Friday 16th August from midday to 6pm in Ventnor Park, Park Avenue.
