Wednesday 13th December Update
We are on our way to completing the first step of the repair to our sewer which should be completed by the end of the play today/first thing tomorrow morning. The next step will be to CCTV upstream and downstream to determine if any is further damage, I am to understand the CCTV will take place tomorrow, once completed we will have a better idea on how long we will need the road closed to complete the work.
CCTV is where we put a camera into the pipe so we can see first-hand the condition of the sewer.
I will look to update you again tomorrow afternoon once I’ve had my call with our contractors, again our apologies for this inconvenience this has caused yourselves and the residents of Ventnor.
Tuesday 12th December Update
We carried out a CCTV survey and heavy jet last night 11th December to determine the extent of the damage to the sewer. We restored flow to the line so customers will not be affected and will have full use of their facilities in the area. We are unable to give a definitive timescale at this time, we will know more once in the next 24-48hrs once we’ve dug into the sink hole and carried out further investigations. I will update you as soon as possible (hopefully tomorrow) once we know the extent of the work needed to repair this sewer.
